Montreat College Music Business and Audio Production students are hosting a retreat for worship pastors in Western North Carolina who are actively writing music for the church. We will gather for a weekend somewhere here in the Blue Ridge mountains to share our gifts and work together in writing a number of songs. The retreat will include a number of workshops as well as dedicated writing sessions and the chance to collaborate with others. If you have songs you are already writing, but have not finished, please bring them to the retreat so we can help refine and complete these works. We think it is important to gather together to share our talents to expand the Kingdom of God, so please feel free to contact us at email@example.com if you feel called to share your gifts with our community in this way.
After the retreat, we hope that there will be additional communication to help each other further develop songs that might not yet be fully realized. When we feel that we have a really firm group of songs, we will book time at Echo Mountain Recording Studio, in Asheville, to put our work into a published form that we can share with our congregations and communities. The cost of the studio time as well as the mixing and mastering process will be covered by the initial registration fee for the retreat. Upon completion of the album we will post it online for sale, as well as on popular streaming and download sites and apps, such as iTunes and Spotify.
Finally, we want to celebrate all of the work gone into this project by putting on an album release show, to introduce these songs to the community of believers in our churches. We will host this at Gaither Chapel, on Montreat College's campus. This will be a chance to invite your congregation to come and worship the Lord with song and dance, and learn a number of songs that they will begin to hear on Sunday mornings more often. This will also be a chance for people of the community to support our project by purchasing a digital download of our album.
